Natural Wine Cork Quality Grade Chart
Pictured below are seventy wine corks divided into seven different
quality grades. Each quality grade is made up of ten corks with the
top cork in each row being the best within that quality level down
to the tenth cork being at the lower end of that quality level. It
is necessary to show this quality span within each level because natural
wine corks are exactly that --- Natural --- and therefore there are
no two corks that can be exactly identical. Some years ago the renowned
Cork Federation of France in consultation with the French Wine Institute
designated these seven qualities as the international norm governing
natural wine cork grades.
